Electric Motor Rewinding
A Wilson electric motor rewind job is the best! When we get through with an electric motor repair job, it is always as good as the original and often better, for we use the best material available and our technicians take a genuine professional pride in their work. We have recorded winding data for the last 30 years. This gives us knowledge of previous windings on a problem motor. And all of our motors are double dipped before leaving the shop, a service most repair shops don’t offer. Our technicians preheat the motor first to seal cracks on the windings and drive off moisture. They then dip the hot motor in cold varnish (Class H Polyester). This allows the varnish to penetrate throughout the motor to prevent flexing from causing failure during operation later. The motor is baked and later dipped a second time for build up. Our varnish is rated at 4000 volts per mil. We build up from 3 to 5 mils per dip.

While manufacturers produce excellent standardized equipment, their products may not always correspond to local conditions or needs. Variations in job application, voltage and load can cause a drain on optimum efficiency and the life of a motor.

Electric Motor Repair Insulation
Wilson's electric motor repair insulation system has been used on some of the most demanding industrial applications in Georgia. Whether it's a lumber mill debarker application, kaolin mine bird machine, granite mine crusher, or textile mill loom motor, Wilson repaired electric motors continue to perform.

Even where other electric motors failed within a few days, Wilson repaired motors continue to run, and run, and run ..... the same application ... the same motor control. Wilson simply remanufactures a better electric motor for any application.

• In-Slot Winding
  Wilson's winding technique of coil insertion in the stator diminishes the effect of high voltage spikes on the magnet wire insulation. This is accomplished by manually positioning each turn within the stator winding to reduce the impact of spikes across adjacent turns. The result is superior resistance to high voltage spikes and excellent resistance to the generation of Corona within the motor.
• Magnet Wire Insulation Integrity
  The Wilson stator winding system reduces the threat of damaging the magnet wire insulation coating. The machine wound coils are carefully inserted into the stator slots by skilled craftsmen. This prevents any scraping or marring of the magnet wire during coil insertion. Our unique winding system assures that the first and last turn are placed for maximum resistance to voltage spikes. It also assures that the magnet wire insulation is not damaged.
• Minimum Post-Winding Deformation
  Combining our heavy double dip and bake application of class "H" polyester varnish with our precisely placed winding system eliminates the need for damaging post-winding coil forming which can jeopardize the integrity of the insulation system.
• Extra Heavy Phase Protection
  Wilson uses extra heavy polyester cloth phase insulation that extends well beyond the coil nose for maximum phase-to-phase separation and protection.
• Premium Magnet Wire
  Wilson continues to use the best magnet wire available for its motor rewinding. All wire used is copper. New developments in wire processing technology allow us to use a magnet wire rated for 200 degrees Celsius, with a dielectrc strength of over 7000 volts, and improved resistance to the damaging effects of Corona discharge.
• Uprate Class B Motors
  By using the latest insulation, magnet wire, and winding techniques, Wilson can uprate many motors originally produced by the factory as Class B insulated motors to Class F or H rated motors with twice the normal expected life of the original motors.
